  • Fossils can be found practically anywhere!
  • High on mountains, underwater, in the desert, on
    the beaches, or deep underground.
  • Fossils can be found hidden in rocks called
    concretions or mixed with gravel in a creek.

  • About 1 million years ago, animals you might find
    roaming the grasslands are camels, deer, bison,
    sheep, giraffes, and horses.

  • upright were known as hominids.
  • The earliest hominids lived around
  • 4 million years ago in the Africa.
