not a gift of modern civilization we have
brilliant tradition of it in our country. At
least 20 women composed Rigvedic hymns. Gargi and
Matreyi were the leading philosophers of the
time. Women in the Vedic era so excelled in the

Girls' and Women's Education
  • World Education has a long history of
successfully working with local partners to
    design, execute, manage and evaluate
    participatory, community-based initiatives to
advance the conditions of girls and women. World
Education's programs help girls enroll and stay
in school and help women gain access to or create
new educational, financial, and social resources
in their communities. World Education programs
help girls and women improve their own lives, the
lives of their families and the conditions in the
    their communities.

Mission Statement
  • Article 26 of the Universal Declaration of Human
Rights states "Elementary education shall be
compulsory."  In the impoverished rural areas of
northern India, however, basic education often
falls by the wayside as families struggle to earn
their daily meals. By providing scholarships,
books, and uniform donations, the Deoki Nandan
Education Trust strives to ensure that all Indian
    children have access to education.

Some words by Jawahar Lal Nehru

one person. Educate a woman and you
    educate the whole family
