Wide avenue in Mexico City. Built under the
orders of Maximilian. El Angel de la
Independencia was built on the Paseo to
commemorate the 100th anniversary of Mexican
independence in 1910.

La Alameda
Public park in Mexico City. It used to be an
Aztec marketplace.

Constitution Plaza
Main plaza in Mexico City. Another name is El
Zocolo.

El Parque Chapultepec
Largest city park in Latin America. Former
retreat for Aztec rulers.

Palacio de Bellas Artes
Most important cultural center of Mexico. Houses
the works of Diego Rivera.

El Palacio National
Government building. Housed the Federal Treasury
and National Archives.

Basilica of Our Lady of Guadeloupe
It is said that the Virgin Mary appeared to Juan
Diego at this basilica which led to widespread
Catholicism in Mexico.

Monument of Ninos Heroes
Monument honoring six fallen teenage soldiers
during the Battle of Chapultepec during the
Mexican-American War. The last boy to fall
wrapped the Mexican flag around him and jumped
off a castle. There is a mural painted to depict
and honor these boys.
