What is temperature?

• Its a measure of how hot or cold something is.
• Its a measure of the average kinetic energy of
  the particles of an object.
• A thermometer is used to measure.

Temperature Scales

• Fahrenheit-used in USA, water melts/freezes at 32
  degrees and boils/condenses at 212 degrees.
• Celsius-used in other parts of world, water
  melts/freezes at 0 degrees and boils/condenses at
  100 degrees.
• Kelvin-based on absolute zero, which is when
  molecules stop moving.

  on density differences.
