• Heat always travels from areas that are warmer to

• Warm to Cool or Hot to Cold

Conduction

• Conduction is the process that moves heat energy
  from one object to another when they are touching
• Occurs only in solids
• Metals are good conductors of heat

Convection

• Convection is the process that transfers heat
  energy in through liquids and gases
• Helps to explain weather changes and
  volcanoes/plate tectonics

Radiation

• Radiation is heat energy that travels as
  electromagnetic waves through air.
• Sun is the biggest source of radiation energy
