The importance of self-study
  • You will be spending 20 weeks in the classroom
    but 32 weeks out of the classroom so self-study
    is of the utmost importance.
  • Here are some things you can do to study alone
  • study all the grammar points in the book not
    covered in class
  • Use such sites as BBC Learning English to improve
    your language skills
  • Access newspapers on line to practise reading
    newspaper articles (especially the second year
    students) such as the Guardian, the Times, the
    Independent, the Economist and so on.
  • Access EFL websites such as Daves ESL Café,
    English-zone and Learn English to practise a
    variety of aspects
  • Use the self-access material at the faculty and
    the CLA
