- THL 100 should be taken this year
- No other THL can be taken as freshman
- PHL 250 can also be taken this year if
- PHL 107 was taken in the Fall
4CORE B Culture, Ideas and Civilizations
- PHL 107 should be taken this year
- HIS 101 should be taken this year a few are
ready for HIS 10X (Non-Western) in the spring. - ENG 120 or 121 and ENG 150 are a must this year
some complete all 3 this year. - Global 3XX cannot take yet
5CORE C Non-Science Major or not pursuing
Pre-Health Science
- Must take 7 credits must take a lab
- Start freshmen on science this year
- Remaining science sometime before they graduate,
but preferably in their sophomore or junior year

- - Can be taken with or without PHY 108 (lab)
- PHY 187 Intro to Physics 188 (lab) available
for 1 credit with or without PHY 187, 127, 137,

7CORE C Science Major or Pre-Health Science
Student
- CHM 205/206 or CHM 285/286 in Spring if
successfully completed CHM 203/204 in Fall - BIO 212 (most take this in Spring it can be
taken before BIO 211 which is offered in the
Fall) - Students will have completed their Core C
- after this year
8Education Majors
- Must take EDU 103 first
- CHM 215 and/or 216 Natural Sciences I II
- Core D met with EDU 208 and 210 required courses
- Have student check with the Education Department
9CORE D Social and Behavioral Sciences
- Two courses from different fields on list in
Bulletin - Take at least one this year
- More seats in ANT 111 and NAS 101 can also take
core in SOC, PLS, PSY, COM, ECO. - Second course can be taken in Sophomore or Junior
year
10CORE E - Skills
- Writing
- ENG 150 should take as freshman

- MTH 201 for non-pre-health best to take soon.
- MTH 245 for all science and pre-health take as
sophomore if not yet completed. - Speech/Studio/Performing Arts
- Most take COM 152 increased interest in Art,
Dance, Music or Theatre. Can take in Junior year.
11Language (Classic or Modern)
- If continuing from high school, should be
finished or at 201 level this year - If choosing a new language, can start any time
and must take two courses - If going to Dominican Republic for Encuentro
Domicano, must have some Spanish competency

13Disabilities in Skill Areas
- Must have test results establishing a disability,
i.e. results must connect disability to the skill
to be learned - Can bring from high school or go to Center for
Health and Counseling or bring from Student
Support Services - Bring to CCAS Academic Office
- With approval, may substitute disability with
course in a non-troubling skill area or, with
language, a second global diversity course
