About the poet
  • Morten Sødergaard was born in Copenhagen in 1964.
    In 1993 he obtained the degree of cand.phil. in
    Literature at the University of Copenhagen.

We dont know very much about him...
  • He is known for being a very original poet, who
    tells about humans in a new way. In 1992, he
    wrote his first poem collection Sahara i mine
    hæder
  • - (Sahara In My Hands), which was followed two
    years later by the collection Ild og tal
    - (Fire and Number(s)). Then he created a
    poetic short story Ubestemmelsessteder
    - (Indeterminated Places, 1996), followed
    by his third collection of poetry Bier dør
    sovende - (Bees Die Sleeping, 1998), which was
    Morten Sødergaards breakthrough to a wider
    public.
  • Side by side with his writing he has been
    co-editor of various magazines such as Hieroglyf,
    Van Gogh and Banana Split. He has also translated
    work by Jorge Luis Borges, The Book of Sand.

    international books. Among the international
    books are "Vinci, later," which has only been
    released in Torronto.He was nominated for the
    Nordic Council Literature Prize 2007- And have
    won numerous pizes. FxThe beatrice-prize in
    2006The Michael Strunge-prize in 1998The
    Danish radio literature-prize in 2008
