Ramadan Month of fasting (the
holiest month, the mass is celebrated in
Pakistan. Muslim Pakistanis (97 per cent of the
population) day attended mosques with increasing
frequency, and recite the Qur'an. special foods
are cooked in large amounts,
Moon Night (chand raat) Iftikhar Day
celebrations began the night before Eid. This
night, marks the end of the month of Ramadan.
Known as moon night, girls start the celebrations
by having henna on their hands. Gifts and sweets
are exchanged with friends and family. The
streets are alive and buzzing with people. The
streets are decorated with light.
5Celebrations
Eid, Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha, fast, approval
of the month of Ramadan, and Ibrahim (Abraham's
willingness for God to sacrifice his son Ishmael
) is remembered. Eid celebrations are an
national holiday in Pakistan. The government and
business offices are closed for 3 days.
Night before Eid, people search for the moon of
Ramadan and Ramadan ends on arrival of the
sighting of the new moon. Eid day begins with
morning prayers, then a big breakfast with
family. The day is spent with relatives and
friends sharing gifts and sweets. During the
evening people go to the town for some partying,
going to restaurants or relax in the city's
parks.Eid al-Fitr, Money is given to charity
and gifts to young children..Eid al-Adha, The
meat is distributed to relatives and neighbours
and food is also donated to charities.
6Celebrations
Milaad Nabi Milaad Nabi is a prominent religious
festival and celebrates Prophet Mohammed birthday.
14th August, the people of Pakistan Day.
Pakistan gained independence from British India
and established an independent state for Muslims
celebrate. Events are held throughout the country
and many people are seen singing and dancing in
the streets. Many pop and classical concerts are
held with singers. Many people decorate their
houses and fly the flag of Pakistan. Night,
fireworks are used in many cities.
Muharram (Ashura) In Pakistan the first ten days
of Muharram is celebrated officially. 10th day of
Muharram Imam (Aliahsalam) Hussain, Mohammad's
grandson, was martyred in Karbala during the war
with 72 family members, friends and followers.

The Badshahi Mosque (Urdu ??????? ????) or the
Emperors Mosque in Lahore
The Faisal Mosque in Islamabad is the largest
mosque in Pakistan

QUIDE-E-AZAM MAUSOLEUM the Quaid-e-Azams
Mausoleum is a prominent and impressive landmark
of Karachi.
Minar-e-Pakistan (or Yadgaar-e-Pakistan) is a
tall minaret in Iqbal Park Lahore, built in honor
of the Lahore Resolution.

The Lahore Fort is the most popular historical
landmark of Pakistan. It is located in the heart
of Lahore, the capital city of the province of
Punjab, Pakistan. Lahore Fort is locally known as
Shahi Qila which means the royal fort.
Prime Minister House of Pakistan is located in
Islamabad the capital of Pakistan. All Prime
ministers of Pakistan have enjoyed this place.

Shalwar Qameez is the national dress of Pakistan.
People from all four provinces of Pakistan wear
Shalwar Qameez which comes in many different
styles, fabrics, colours and patterns. It is a
dress worn on both casual and formal occasions
owing to its comfortability. Women wear it along
with Duppatta, which is essential cloth item for
women in Pakistan.
