Language Arts We are continuing our new unit all
about Living Things. Our new focus question is
What are plants and animals like? This week we
have been looking at diagrams of a plant and
animal and have been working on Summarizing a
story as well as sequencing events. Descriptive
Language This week we have been working on using
describing words (adjectives) to describe other
words (nouns). We have been writing about plants
and animals using describing words and sight
words. WOWgreat job kindergarten! These will
go home in report card folders for you to see?
Sight Words Please continue to practice,
practice, practice! We learned our new word FOR.
This week we have started testing kiddos on
their knowledge of their sight words. They are
to know 32 words at this time. 40 by the end of
the year. End of the Marking Period We will be
working on End of the Marking Period assessments
over the next 2 weeks. Report cards will go home
on April 17th for the 3rd Marking
Period. DONATIONS PLEASE Our classroom is in
need of a few items. Please feel free to send
these items in to school and it will be greatly
appreciated. Sandwich and gallon zip lock
baggies. Also any breakfast items for
our Kindergarten Kratzer Kountry Fair Raffle
basket.
- Math
- This week we have worked on Geometry and shapes
such as circles, squares, triangles, and
rectangles. We sent home the beginning part of
the math booklets this week with your kiddo and
some of the pages are blank because we did them
whole group or we created shapes with our shape
building tools. We used mini marshmallows for
the verticies and pretzel sticks for the sides.
We will be wrapping up our unit on Geometry
before the Spring Break next week. Extra math
practice will go home next week to get ready for
the test for Thursday. Kindergarten is
SHAPETACULAR! - Mystery Readers
- The boys and girls are just LOVING having our
special guest readers come in to read and share
some of his/her favorite stories with the class!
It is really wonderful and exciting and all of
our readers are doing a GREAT job! Ask your
kiddo to tell you all about WHO was the classroom
Mystery Reader of the day and WHAT special story
did they read. Also, have your kiddo tell you
his/her favorite part of the story too! - Reminders
- Monday, March 30th Math Review homework will go
home - Pretzel money is due for 5th grade fund
raiser! - Thursday, April 2nd SCHOOL MAKE UP DAY

- Math test for Geometry on Chapter 9!
- Friday, April 3rd and Monday, April 6th NO
SCHOOL! We return back to school on Tuesday,
April 7th DAY 3!!!
