6Why is he remembered?
- His decisions brought the Reformation to England.
- He was excommunicated from the church because he
had his first marriage annulled (ended). - He fought back and had Parliament pass an act to
declare himself the head of the church, not the
Pope. - Some priests and popes didnt agree to this, and
were killed. - This was the beginning of the Church of England,
or Anglican Church. - He left due to personal reasons, not religious.
- The Church of England stayed very much like the
Catholic Church.
