More Practice Observation vs. Inference
  • Qualitative observation no numbers
  • Quantitative observations numbers
  • Inference something you figure out,
    opinion

On your notebook paper labeled WARM-UP write
qualitative observation, quantitative observation
and Inference. Then pick on picture from the
next slide and write an example of each for the
picture you select.

E Energy
  • The sun is the source of most of the energy on
    Earth. Plants and other autotrophs use the sun,
    then we eat them.

  • Autotrophs (producers) can make their own food
    using the sun. Ex. plants, some protists
    bacteria.
  • Heterotrophs (consumers) can not make their own
    food. To get energy they must eat or absorb
    nutrients. Ex all animals and fungi, some
    protists, and bacteria.
  • Homeostatis organisms ability to maintain
    stable internal conditions.
