4Early Life
-When Paul was three his parents sailed for Lima,
Peru, after the victory of Louis Napoleon
(17691821). His father died during the trip.
-Gauguin and his mother remained
in Lima for four years. -He lived a comfortable
life as a kid. -At the age of seventeen he
enlisted in the merchant marine. -In 1870 he
became a stock broker and he stayed in that
profession for twelve years.
