• The kit fox is a nocturnal mammal with sandy,
  yellow fur and a black tip on its tail. Its home
  is underground in dens in the desert.
• The kit fox is a carnivore that eats mice, birds,
  lizards, and insects. Its enemy is the mountain
  lion.
• The kit fox survives in the desert by using its
  ears to cool off and its large ears help it
  hear very well.
