    254 The alliteration here is used to draw
    attention to the symbolism of pig throughout this
    story. This is significant in this scene because
    the pig will soon be gone from farmer Johns
    field.

  • Begins with the porter (doorman) and he provides
    comic reliefafter a dramatic scene, Shakespeare
    provides a humorous scene to help relieve the
    tension
  • Porter talks about how drinking can make someone
    feel desire, but takes away performance
  • Lennox and Macduff meet with Macbeth in the
    courtyard
  • Lines 55-63 the night was a stormy and evil night
    (connects with idea of nature being out of
    balance)
  • L. Macbeth and Macbeths murder is unnatural

  • Macduff has gone into Duncans room and found him
    dead
  • Lennox and Macbeth go to witness Duncans death
    and Macbeth kills the guardsnot a good idea,
    Malcolm and Donalbain are immediately suspicious

    killed the guards which only makes him seem more
    suspicious

    attention from Macbeth

  • Just outside the castle with a random old man and
    Ross
  • The old man has never seen such a terrible night
  • And the morning comes and there is no light KEY

  • Duncans horses ate each other last night
    (natures out of balance)
  • Duncans body has been taken to Colmekill (and
    island where Scottish kings are buried)
  • Macduff is going to Fife and Ross to Colmekill
