  • Turning in a paper someone else has written.
  • Forgetting to put quotation marks around a direct
    quote.
  • Copying or pasting from internet sources without
    using proper documentation.
  • Using someone elses ideas without properly
    citing and documenting them.

How to avoid plagiarism
  • Give credit where credit is due.
  • Be familiar with MLA documentation.
  • Ask your instructor if you are unsure.
