Há ricos de dinheiro, tão ricos de usura, que se
fazem mais pobres que os pobres pedintes da via
pública que, muitas vezes, não dispõem sequer de
um pão.
There are those wealthy in money, so wealthy of
avarice, that they cause themselves to be poorer
than the poor beggars on the street , who, many
times, does not have even the use of a bread.

Há ricos de conhecimento, tão ricos de orgulho,
que se fazem mais pobres que os pobres selvagens
ainda insulados nas trevas da inteligência.
There are the ones who are wealthy in knowledge,
who make themselves poorer than the poor savages
still insulated in darkness of intelligence.

Há ricos de tempo, tão ricos de preguiça, que se
fazem mais pobres que os pobres escravizados às
tarefas de sacrifício.
There are those who are wealthy in time, so rich
in laziness, that they make themselves poorer
than the poor enslaved to tasks of sacrifice.

Há ricos de possibilidades, tão ricos de egoísmo,
que se fazem mais pobres que os pobres irmãos em
amargas lutas expiatórias, que de tudo carecem
para ajudar.
There are those rich in possibilities, so rich in
selfishness, that they make themselves poorer
than the poor fellow beings in bitter struggles
of atonement, that in everything they need help.

Há ricos de afeto, tão ricos de ciúme, que se
fazem mais pobres que os pobres companheiros em
prova rude, quando relegados à solidão.
There are those who are wealthy in affection, so
rich in jealousy, that they make themselves
poorer than the poor companion in rude test, when
relegated to loneliness.

Lembra-te, pois, de que todos somos ricos de
alguma coisa ante o Suprimento Divino da Divina
Bondade, e, usando os talentos que a vida te
confia na missão de fazer mais felizes aqueles
que te rodeiam, chegará o momento em que te
surpreenderás mais rico que todos os ricos da
Terra, porquanto entesourarás no próprio coração
a eterna felicidade que verte do amor de Deus.
Remind yourself, then, that we all are wealthy in
something before the Divine Supply of Divine
Kindness, and, using the talents that life has
trusted you in the mission of making those around
you happier, there will be a moment that you
will be surprised as the wealthier of all the
wealthy ones of Earth, since you will have in
your own heart as treasure the eternal happiness
which pours from the love of God.
