• Older age, Obesity, Family history, 80 are
  overweight
• Enough insulin produced, body is using it
  ineffectively
• Insulin resistance
• Gradual development

What causes Gestational Diabetes?

• Develops during late stages of pregnancy
• Usually disappears after the baby is born
• 40-60 higher chance of developing type 2
  diabetes in 5-10 years
• Is caused by hormonal shortage of insulin
