• Inheritance Patterns

Autosomal Dominant

• Every affected person has at least one affected
  parent
• Each generation will have an affected individual
• e.g. Huntingtons Chorea, brachydactyly,
  polydactyly, achondroplasia

Autosomal Recessive

• Individual expressing trait has two normal
  parents
• Two affected parents cannot have an unaffected
  child
• e.g. PKU, cystic fibrosis, albinism

X linked pedigree

• Affected males are connected to unaffected female
  carriers
• There is no direct male to male inheritance
