Percents

• Origin is Latin for per centum meaning per
  100
• In Italian ? per cento meaning by 100
• In Spanish ? por ciento

Converting between percentage and decimal

• Percentage means "per 100", so 75 means 75 per
  100, or simply 75/100 0.75
• So, to convert from percentage to decimal divide
  by 100 (and remove the "" sign).
• The easiest way to divide by 100 is to just move
  the decimal point 2 places to the left and remove
  the "" sign!
