Role of the Pion in Nuclei
  • Pionic Correlation in Nuclei
  • H. Toki et al.
  • A kind of 2p-2h diagram mediated by the pion
    exchange, embedded in the ground state and in
    each excited state.
  • Tensor interaction at high-q is important due to
    the pion-exchange nature.
  • Higher orbits are involved in the Shell-Model.
  • The extent of the wave-function of the correlated
    component (high-q) is spatially smaller than the
    description of the Shell-Model.
  • Isospins and parities are mixed in the
    calculation of the wave function (due to the
    0-T1 nature of the pion)
