Title: Carbon and Phosphorus Cycle

1
Carbon and Phosphorus Cycle
  • By Steve Kim, Francisco Park, David Kim

2
Carbon Cycle
  • Plants use Carbon dioxide and sunlight for
    energy.
  • Plants die and turn into fossil fuels like oil
    and coal.

3
  • People burn fossil fuels and carbon is released
    into the atmosphere.
  • Carbon dioxide traps heat inside the Earths
    atmosphere.

4
  • Some animals absorb carbon to build their
    tissues.
  • When the animals breath carbon dioxide is
released, also when they die the carbon is
    absorbed into the soil.

6
Phosphorus Cycle
  • Phosphorus Cycle is the movement of phosphorus
from land to sediments in the seas and then back
    to land.

7
  • On Earth, phosphorus is usually found in water,
soil and sediments. (Phosphorus usually liquid
    when normal temperature.)

8
  • Phosphorus moves from and deposits on land and
also in sediments. This then is moved to living
organisms. Then it is transferred back to land.

9
  • Phosphorus aids in plant growth. That is why we
    often use phosphorus fertilizer.
