1Accentuate the Negative
- Welcome to the World of Integers!
2What I KNOW about integers
What I THINK I KNOW about integers

4- Essential Questions
- What are integers and what are their purpose?
5What are integers?
- When you subtract two positive numbers (numbers
larger than zero), it is possible to get an
answer of zero. Zero is neither positive nor a
negative number.
6What are integers?
- Integers are a group of numbers that include
positive numbers, negative numbers and zero.
Integers have no upper bound or lower bound which
means that range from negative infinity to
positive infinity.
7What are integers?
- Negative integers are numbers that are less than
zero. Positive integers are numbers that are
greater than zero.
8Real World Examples
Sports Gain and lose yards in a football
game
Money deposit and withdraw money
Weather Above and below zero
Geography Above and below sea level
9The number line is a line labeled with the
integers. Numbers to the right of zero are
positive , and numbers to the left of zero are
negative.
