What Kinds Of Fashions?
  • There were many different kinds of fashions for

  • Ball Gowns

What did some of these fashions look like?
  • Riding Habits were basic, and were used for women
riding sidesaddle, and in carriages. The allowed
women to sit differently in a saddle then a
    regular dress allowed.
  • Ball Gowns/Dance Dresses were very fancy dresses,
the ball gown using a corset to make the women's
waist to look small, then the dress would have a
metal Hoop around the womens waist, making the
dress extend past the womens hips. Dance dresses
    simply tied in the middle.
  • Walking Dresses were loose and allowed women to
walk for a long time. They were made out of think
    fabric.
  • Dinner Dresses were often made out of velvet,
and had very low backs, and were floor length.
  • Afternoon Dresses allowed the wrists and neck to
show, and had a little bit more detail then
    morning dresses.
  • Morning Dresses covered the wrists and neck, and
    were very plain.
