  • The earth is divided into lots of lines called
    latitude and longitude.

Where is 0 degree?
  • The equator is 0 degree latitude.
  • It is an imaginary belt that runs halfway point
    between the North Pole and the South Pole. Where
    the earth is widest.

  • The prime meridian is 0 degrees longitude. This
    imaginary line runs through the United Kingdom,
    France, Spain, western Africa, and Antarctica.
    Has no actual geographic significance.

  • Tropic of Cancer 23.5 N furthest the Northern
    hemisphere will tilt towards the sun.

  • There are 24 time zones in the world.
  • You enter into a new time zone every 15
    Longitude.
  • As you move West, you lose an hour every new
    time zone.

    going back in time ?

    dateline, at which point you actually gain 24
    hours
  • The idea behind this is to make it Noon when the
    sun is at its peak no matter where you are in the
    world.
