The real deal

• Professors dont accept work after the deadline
• Parents cant intervene with professors
• It would be weird to have parents intervene with
  professors or bosses
• It would be weird having parents constantly
  calling to see if my work is getting donenot to
  mention annoying

The motivation

• The motivation for me in college to meet
  deadlines is going to be how successful I want to
  be in the real world.
• I need to treat college like I would a job and
  get things done on time. That way, after
  college, I dont have the habit of missing
  deadlines.
• Why not do that now? That way, youll be in the
  habit of meeting deadlines, and college will be
  easier.

The willpower

• I will make sure that I ask for helpto make
  sure I know what Im doing.
• Professors are actually very easy people to talk
  to, and they want to talk to you
• Convince oneself that work is due the next day.
• Really need to push myself.
• Real friends will let you finish your work.

The how

• Set alarm reminders on phone
• Daily schedule right when you get your class
  schedule and modify when you get your syllabi
  (imagine your deadlines in advanceno surprises)
• Experiment one semester, try later classes and
  working in the morning. Change the next semester
  if this doesnt work for you.
• Split up the essayresearch, outline, rough,
  final, proof read!!
• Treat yourself to a night out or day off when you
  complete an assignment ahead of a deadline
