    revision of your rough draft.
  • Read each question and double check every
    sentence in your draft if necessary.

    sentences read smoothly and clearly
  • Check to make sure you have used the best words
    to express your ideas (diction)
  • Avoid repetition of ideas and similar words
  • Check for accuracy
  • Correct any errors in grammar, spelling, and
    punctuation

Comma Rules Use a comma to
  • Separate a list of at least three items
  • Separate quotations from the speaker
  • To combine 2 ideas into a single sentence
  • If your sentence has more than 2 ideas, it is
    most likely a run-on sentence.
  • Separate introductory phrases from the rest of
    the sentence
  • Show the relationship between a word and a noun
    phrase that follows
  • Separate two complete sentences joined by a
    conjunction
  • And, but, so, or, for, yet
