Farm Subsidies
  • Most hill farms depend on Government subsidies
for their survival. What the subsidies pay for or
whether they are paid at all changes the face of
    the countryside.
  • Hill farmers in Snowdonia have depended on
subsidies for many years. Today grants are now
being paid to farmers to set aside land and
restore the landscape and its buildings.
