Validation of notifications
  • 1200 rules are notified
  • Clarified and renewed notifications of existing
    rules received in 2008 (less than 1000 rules,
    i.e. 5 times less than in 2005)
  • Rules of Bulgaria and Romania
  • New rules of other countries
  • So far 618 rules are uploaded to the PDB.
  • Some of these rules have been uploaded by the
    MS/NSAs as part of the actual notification.

Legal changes for type 3 NSR

Changes in the notification procedure
  • The Commission is introducing a new electronic
    system for notifying NSR and NTR
  • RISD Railway Interoperability and Safety
    Database

Phase I
  • Scope Notifications that were accepted (NO, NL),
    clarified (BE, EE, FR, SE), clarified but not yet
    notified (DK, IE, IT) and new (NO, SE, DK)
  • 67 interview partners contributed to the external
    study
  • Preliminary conclusions and examples of good
    practice have been discussed with MS/NSA

  • A consortium, KEMA - CETREN, has interviewed
    ministries, NSA, RU and IM in 17 MS and CT during
    March-April 2009
  • The consortium will deliver report end July 2009
    with information from the interviews
  • As in phase I, the report will be sent to the
    concerned NSR contact persons for validation

    the report from the consortium
  • prepare a combined report for phase 1 and 2
    concerning the publication and availability of
    the rules
  • deliver recommendations to the Commission for
    publication of the rules in order to make the
