• MAIN unit for liquid volume LITER
• MAIN unit for a solid volume cubic centimeters (
  cm³ )
• Most of the time in class we will be labeling in
  milliliters (mL).

VOLUME OF LIQUIDS

• For liquid volume we will use the instrument
  called a graduated cylinder
• To find the volume of liquids we look at the
  bottom curve of the water level in the graduated
  cylinder.
• The bottom curve of water is called a meniscus.

• When reading the meniscus you use the bottom of
  the curve.
• You must be at eye level and have the graduated
  cylinder on a flat level surface.

• We will measure the length, width, and height of
