Episodic Memory

• Memory of a specific event.
• Tied to your own personal experiences
• Examples
• What did you eat for breakfast today?
• What happened last hour?

Flashbulb Memory

• A type of Episodic Memory
• Memory of an event so surprising or significant
  to us that it is as if we photographed it in our
  mind.
• Why do these happen?
• We pay more attention to special events
• We think about them more often (repetition)
• We connect them to other events in our lives

Generic Memory

• General knowledge
• We cant remember when we acquired the
  information.
• Most of what you learn in school are generic
  memories.
• Example
• Who was the first president of the U.S.?

Procedural Memory

• Skills you have learned.
• Examples
• Riding a bike
• Swimming
• Typing/Texting
• Playing an instrument
• Once learned they last a lifetime.
