• New Historicism is a literary theory, grounded in
  critical theory, that developed in the 1980s,
  primarily through the work of critic Stephen
  Greenblatt, and gained widespread influence in
  the 1990s.

Historicism Remixed

• In the recent movie thriller The Mummy Tomb of
  the Dragon Emperor related to the historical
  events of china. It told the story of their first
  emperor Qin Shi Huang and how he built the great
  wall. Some of the scenes in the movie really did
  explain how cruel he was. For example in the
  scene of the movie when Zi Yaun told Rick and his
  family that emperor Haung built the great wall
  over the people who died building it and that she
  was going to bring them back to life to help her
  fight against the emperor. In Chinese history the
  emperor really was that cruel and he did build
  the wall over the people who died building the
  wall at that time( 259BC-210BC).
