The Circus Maximus
  • It is a chariot racing statium.
  • It was the first and largest chariot stadium in
    acien Rome.
  • Julius Ceasar expanded the Circus around 50 B.C.
  • It was created 326 B.C. by Tarquinius Priscus the
    fifth king of Rome.
  • It is between the between the Palatine and
    Aventine hills.
  • It could hold about 250,000-300,000 people.

  • It was entertainment for the people in Rome
    there were plays, dramas, and mimes.
  • It was 111 meters diameter and 96 feet high.
  • It could hold 11,000 people.
  • The Theatre of Marcellus was the largest
    building in the in the Roman Empire.

Roman Forum      The people of Roma adored
the forum.   It was located in the heart of
Rome.   The forum was a mall,a place for
politicians to discuss their campaign plans and a
great place to get a snack.   Emperors added
onto the forum over time.

  • It is between the Palatine Hill and the
    Colliseum.

    older brother Titus died.

Trajans Market
  • It was built in 100-110 A.D. by an architect
    named Apollodorus of Damascus.
  • The upper levels of the market were for offices.
  • The lower level was for stores that sell oil,
    wine, seafood, groceries, vegetables, and fruit. 
  • It is on the Via dei Fori Imperiali at the
    opposite end of the Colleseum.
  • When people came to the shops instead of walking
    in they waited at the door to be helped.
