Shore Crabs
If you look under a rock or a piece of seaweed,
you may find a shore crab lurking there. You may
notice its peculiar sideways movement as it
scuttles along the sand looking for somewhere to
hide from seabirds that might try to eat it.
Shore crabs have shells that protect their soft
bodies, in case waves knock them against the
rocks.

Sea Anemones
Sea anemones look a bit like flowers but they are
not flowers at all. They are hollow, jelly-like
creatures. Their petal-like tentacles have a
poisonous sting which they use to sting tiny fish
before eating them. There are many different
types of sea anemones in lots of beautiful
colours. It is important that they stay under
water for most of the time as they will die if
they dry out.
