The health and wellness of children today neither
begins nor ends in the doctors office! What
families do every day matters and will have
lifelong impact on childrens health and
well-being.

Familiesworking in partnership with health care
professionals and state and community decision
makerstogether can build healthier lives for
every child, including children and youth with
special health care needs. This is the underlying
goal behind Bright Futures!

What is Bright Futures?
Bright Futures is a vision and a philosophy of
childrens health care. It is also a set of
up-to-date guidelines, offering a practical,
strength-based approach to childrens health and
well-being, birth through adolescence.
Bright Futures is dedicated to the
principle that every child deserves to
be as healthy as possible. The best
health care involves a trusting
relationship between a child and
family, a health professional, and
their community.

What is Bright Futures for Families?
Families roles are essential in the health of
their children. What families do every day plays
a huge role in the health and well-being of
children, including those with special health
care needs. Partnership with health care
