  • Welcome to Art Goes to School

What is Art Goes to School?
  • AGTS or Art Goes to School is a volunteer
    organization whose goals are to enrich young
    lives through presenting artwork and its history
    in a fun, upbeat manner.
  • This involves researching, showing, discussing,
    and asking questions pertaining to a particular
    artwork.
  • Generally, the audience is Kindergarten through
    8th grade.

How does this relate to your Mid-term?
  • Your assignment
  • You will choose one of the following artworks to
    research.
  • You are to become an expert on your assigned
    artwork.

Researching your Artwork
  • You will research its background, prepare
    questions and practice with our class to prepare
    you for your presentation of this artwork to
    youngsters of Octorara.
  • This activity can also count toward a community
    service activity. (Fill out the proper paperwork
    to get credit for this activity).

What if you want the same artwork as someone else?
  • During this demonstration, sketch (at least) TOP
    3 choices of the artworks presented.
  • Make sure to include the artists name (correct
    spelling) and title of artwork.
  • The first student who sees me with at least 2
    valid researched facts about this artist and/or
    artwork will claim this artist.
