  • 71 are attending 4-year colleges
  • 19 are attending 2-year school
  • 6 are in the military or other post- secondary
    training/schools
  • 4 went directly into the work force

The Class of 2010
  • Earned over 3.1 million dollars in scholarships
    and grants (283 seniors)
  • 76 enrolled in one or more Advanced Placement
    classes while in high school

  • Accepted by 192 different colleges and
    universities and are currently on 86 different
    campuses
  • Attend school in 26 different states and four
    countries

  • BWHS counselors will visit the middle schools
  • February 14 15 Stone Hill
  • February 16 17 Eagle Ridge

    Studies course selection information
  • BWHS counselors will review
  • Transitioning to high school
  • Graduation requirements
  • The high school schedule
  • Advanced Placement courses
  • Activities sports
  • Classes for next year

Scheduling Process
  • There is a different process for scheduling at
    each middle school
  • The end result is the same Students and parents
    will select their courses with the input and
    assistance of their current counselors and
    teachers

Scheduling Process at Stone Hill
  • On February 14 15, BWHS counselors will meet
    with students in large groups
  • Students will then meet with SHMS counselors
  • Students will be scheduled into teacher
    recommended core courses
  • SHMS counselors will help students pick their
    electives
  • Parents can log onto the Family Connection online
    program to make changes

Scheduling Process at Eagle Ridge
  • ERMS will schedule students into teacher
    recommended core courses
  • On February 16 17, BWHS counselors will meet
    with students in their science classes to review
    their core courses options and help students
    select their electives
  • Students will bring their course selection forms
    home for your review
  • Please sign the form and send it in with your
    child along with any changes if necessary

  • If you may change your childs course selections
  • SHMS Use Family Connections
  • ERMS Send in a note or email the counselor
  • If you disagree or do not understand why a level
    was recommended please consider contacting your
    middle school counselor or teacher

  • Changes can be made until June 30, 2011
  • After June 30th schedule changes may not be
    possible!

Scheduling for Students New to LCPS
  • New students usually begin enrolling in
    mid-April
  • The information and materials needed to enroll an
    new student can be found on the BWHS and LCPS
    websites
  • New students and their parents will select their
    courses with a BWHS counselor when they enroll

The Importance of the Freshman Year
  • The difference between a 2.89 GPA and a 3.46 GPA
    can be the ninth grade year!!!
  • The student with the Slow Start would have to
    earn straight As in grades 10, 11, and 12 just
    to match the student who had a stronger freshman
    year.
