- 71 are attending 4-year colleges
- 19 are attending 2-year school
- 6 are in the military or other post- secondary
training/schools - 4 went directly into the work force
3The Class of 2010
- Earned over 3.1 million dollars in scholarships
and grants (283 seniors) - 76 enrolled in one or more Advanced Placement
classes while in high school
4College University Attendance
- Accepted by 192 different colleges and
universities and are currently on 86 different
campuses - Attend school in 26 different states and four
countries

- Students will receive the 2011-2012 Program of
Studies course selection information - BWHS counselors will review
- Transitioning to high school

8Scheduling Process
- There is a different process for scheduling at
each middle school - The end result is the same Students and parents
will select their courses with the input and
assistance of their current counselors and
teachers
9Scheduling Process at Stone Hill
- On February 14 15, BWHS counselors will meet
with students in large groups - Students will then meet with SHMS counselors
- Students will be scheduled into teacher
recommended core courses - SHMS counselors will help students pick their
electives - Parents can log onto the Family Connection online
program to make changes
10Scheduling Process at Eagle Ridge
- ERMS will schedule students into teacher
recommended core courses - On February 16 17, BWHS counselors will meet
with students in their science classes to review
their core courses options and help students
select their electives - Students will bring their course selection forms
home for your review - Please sign the form and send it in with your
child along with any changes if necessary

- If you disagree or do not understand why a level
was recommended please consider contacting your
middle school counselor or teacher

- Changes can be made until June 30, 2011
- After June 30th schedule changes may not be
possible!
13Scheduling for Students New to LCPS
- New students usually begin enrolling in
mid-April - The information and materials needed to enroll an
new student can be found on the BWHS and LCPS
websites - New students and their parents will select their
courses with a BWHS counselor when they enroll

31The Importance of the Freshman Year
- The difference between a 2.89 GPA and a 3.46 GPA
can be the ninth grade year!!! - The student with the Slow Start would have to
earn straight As in grades 10, 11, and 12 just
to match the student who had a stronger freshman
year.
