Thomas Jefferson Memorial

• Honors the third President of the United States
• The cherry trees surrounding the Memorial were a
  gift from the city of Tokyo, Japan

• Named after President George Washington
• Built by Robert Mills starting in 1838
• Largest Stone structure in the world (over 550 ft
  tall)
• The monument was completed in 1884

The United States Capitol

• Began building in 1793
• The capital building is 751 feet long, 350 feet
  wide, and the height from the bottom of the
