Trimester The academic year is divided into three
trimesters First (T1) Second (T2) Summer

Unit A subject is referred to as a unit at
Deakin. Unit Chair An Academic staff who is
responsible for the delivery of the unit. Unit
Code The letters indicate the Faculty and School

Credit Point A unit is typically worth one
credit point. In this course, you are required
to complete 24 credit points to graduate CPL -
Credit for Prior Learning If you are applying for
Credit for Prior Learning (CPL), you must
submit your transcripts, unit outlines (for
matching Deakin units) and a completed CPL
application form prior to the start of Trimester

Classes, Seminars and Practicals You are
expected to attend the seminars(tutorials) and
practicals for all the units you are enrolled
in. Classes (lectures) for most units are
available online if you are unable to attend in
person.

practical session for HSN104 and HSN106
Students are only required to complete this lab
unit once in their degree The HSN010 Laboratory
Safety unit module and quizzes can be accessed

Peer Mentoring Program 2015
Excited about starting at Deakin, but unsure of
the unfamiliar environment? Is the prospect of
starting university a little bit daunting? The
Faculty of Health offers the Peer Mentoring
program to all Health students across all
campuses. This program is highly recommended to
all commencing students. Second and third year
Health students (mentors) assist new students
(mentees) through introduction and transition to
university life during the first five weeks of
