Joans Early life
  • Born at Domremy, France
  • Jacques D'Arc (Joans father) was a poor peasant
    father
  • Joan was the youngest of the family
  • She never learned how to read or wright.
  • As a child she spent most of her time praying in
    the church

Joans Visions
  • At age 13,summer of 1425 she started having
    visions of Saint Margret and Saint Catherine but
    never say anything about them.
  • Later she says it was a message from god. This
    massage urged her to Robert Baudricourt (who
    commanded Charles VII in the neighboring town of
    Vaucoulers)
  • Baudricourt rejected her request of her request
    of helping France during the Hundred-Years-War.

Joans Visions call for action
  • While the military and King Charles grew more
    disparate.
  • Orleans was 12 October,1428.By close defeat
    seemed imminent.
  • By this time Joans voice's seemed urgent and
    threatening. She says she did not know how to
    fight but god commanded it so she had to.

Joans Exception into the French Army
  • While the military and King Carrel's grew more
    desperate and then the problem with Orleans was
    very bad because defeat seemed imminent
  • As Joan stayed, she slowly made an impression on
    Baudricourt, and on February it was announced
    that there was a great defeat on Orleans.
  • At this statement she was finally urged to
    present herself to the King of Chinon.

  • As she made her way to the King she was Dressed
    as a man for protection, and she made sure no one
    knew she was a girl.
  • King of Chinon later excepted her and she was
    knighted

Joans Campaign
  • Before Joan went into a full out war, she had a
    short campaign to complete
  • She was sent to popes and bishops to be examined.

  • Joans campaign began at the city of Loire, which
    (after a series of success) soon ended on June 18
    with the great victory of Paty.

Joans Mission
  • Her first mission was to take Paris.
  • Defeating Paris was one of the hardest wars to
    fight. It was protected by high walls and a moat.
    To get across the French Army had to cross the
    moat and set up ladders to climb the wall. While
    Joan was crossing the bridge she was shot by an
    archer in the thy.

Joan gets Captured
  • Joan was making a surprise attack Burgundy.
  • She took 400 men to attack the city but they
    where ambushed and Joan was captured.

Joan is a Prisoner
  • Joan was captured and put into a prison were her
    head was shaved and she was guarded by English
    soliders.
  • She was later trialed by judges that found her
    guilty.

Joans Death
  • She was found guilty for claiming that she talked
    to god and that she dressed as a man.
  • She was given the option to sign a paper that
    said she would follow the churchs teachings. She
    signed it, but she was sentenced to life in
    prison but she soon doomed herself again by
    putting on men's clothing and on May 30, 1431 she
    was torched at the stake and died at age 19
