• In October 1844, Poe went to work for the Evening
  Mirror. While working for the Mirror, Poe
  finished the Raven, which is known as "the most
  famous poem ever written by an American.
• In 1845 on January 29th was published in the New
  York Evening Mirror were it became a hit. HE
  received only 15 dollars for the initial
  printing.
• The Raven was widely published in February 1845
  under the pseudonym Quarles. It was issued by the
  American Review.
• By June, the critic, a London newspaper had
  printed it.
• The poem was so well respected that even the
  highly acclaimed Boston Journal Littell's Lingage
  decided to print it as well.
• The Raven was so popular and well known by the
  public that parodies started to be made.
• People claimed that he was writing the poem in
  the late year of 1844 while staying with the
  Brennan family on a farm in New York.
• Poe said he has been working on the Raven since
  his childhood. However people have question his
  word
• .The Raven became popular immediately and was
  quite successful.
• "Nevermore"  was the final answer in order to
  create a tone of sorrow and despair.
