• The University of North Carolina Wilmington
  is a mid-sized public the states coastal
  university dedicated to learning through the
  integration of teaching and mentoring with
  research and service.  We combine a small-college
  commitment to excellence in teaching with a
  research universitys opportunities for student
  involvement in significant faculty scholarship. 
  We seek to create an academic experience that
  stimulates intellectual curiosity, creativity
  creative inquiry, critical thinking, and
  thoughtful expression and responsible citizenship
  in a broad range of disciplines and professional
  fields, while maintaining an international
  strength in the marine sciences. The university
  is committed to providing the highest quality
  academic experience in an An internationally
  recognized strength in marine sciences
  complements the extensive array of high-quality
  programs at the baccalaureate and masters
  levels, as well as selected doctoral programs
  responsive to state and regional needs.  Our high
  level of research activity, combined with our
  moderate size, enables scholarly interaction
  among students and faculty. Our goal is
  eExcellence in teaching, scholarship, research,
  artistic achievement, and service is our primary
  goal.
