Types of Water Pollution

• Point source any single identifiable, stationary
  source from which pollutants are discharged
  (e.g., a pipe, industrial facility, or wastewater
  treatment plant)
• Non-point source pollutant comes from a broad
  area and/or many diffuse sources. Precipitation
  moving over and through the ground picks up
  pollutants.
