Beware! Its summer time again.
Two of our drilling rigs have reported seeing a
number of snakes around the location, take
precautions, beware when walking with sandals on

• First Aid
• Snake Bites
• Reassure the victim a small bite is rarely
  fatal.
• Restrain all movements of the bitten limb to
  avoid the spread of venom in the blood. Place the
  victim in a relaxed position, eg. In your car.
• Take the victim as soon as possible to the
  nearest clinic. Anti-venom is successful for
  severe poisoning even when given several hours
  after the bite.
• If a doctor or hospital can not be reached within
  30 minutes, immobilise the limb. Make a sling
  (arm) or splint (leg) and take the victim to a
  clinic. Do not let the victim use the wounded
  limb.
• Never suck or cut the bite, do not apply a
  tourniquet. They are all absolutely useless and
  even dangerous measures. Never apply chemicals or
  an ice-pack. Do not give the victim aspirin or
  spirits.
