Anorexic
  • Anorexic - a prolonged eating disorder due to the
    loss of appetite

Anorexic
  • Anorexia means without appetite and is
  • a desire not to become overfat/obese or a
  • desire to become thin
  • Loss of appetite can lead to extreme
  • weight loss and result in a lack of nutrition
  • There are also psychological problem
  • related to obsessions with food and
  • calories

Obese
  • Obese - a term used to describe people who are
    very overfat

  • Obesity can lead to heart attacks, strokes,
  • high blood pressure, diabetes, etc.
  • Rise in obesity due to not exercising
  • enough as well as too much of the wrong
  • foods
  • Extra weight make exercise difficult and
  • uncomfortable. As a result, obese people
  • are not likely to take part in sustained
  • physical activity

  • Overfat - having body fat in excess of normal

  • Describes physique which has an excessive

  • It relates specifically to a high percentage of
    fat
  • content, not weight
  • A weightlifter will probably be classified by a
    BMI
  • Index as overweight, but not overfat
  • Body composition can determine whether a
  • person is described as overfat

  • Overweight - having weight in excess of normal

  • inactivity
  • If an individual is eating more calories than

  • are using, there calories in will not equal

  • Overweight could be having more muscle mass
  • or a large bone structure
  • Overweight can be a benefit, more muscle which
  • can equal more strength. This applies to
  • weightlifters, javelin throwers, wrestlers,
    etc.

  • Underweight - weighing less than is normal,
    healthy or required

  • Weight can be lost in a variety of ways such
    as,
  • exercising, wearing sweat suits, steam baths
    or
  • taking diuretic drugs
  • All these methods can cause dehydration, which
  • will affect performance
  • As with all weight-related conditions, they may
    be
  • a medical reason
