Title: In a population of dandelions is there genetic variation?
1(No Transcript)
2In a population of dandelions is there genetic
variation?
- Which person do you agree with the most?
- Why did you choose the one you picked?
- Why did you not choose one of the others?
3They all look alike to me. They must be
identical. There is no genetic variation.
Each dandelion had different parents. The
offspring inherit specific traits from their
father and other specific traits from their
mother.
Each dandelion is a blend of their parents. They
are a 50/50 mixture of their mother/father.

There is diversity, it is just hard to see. This
diversity comes from the fact that some genes
come from one parent and some genes come from the
other parent.
Rita
They are all genetically identical because these
dandelions are growing in the same environmental
conditions.
