• Story of a German boy who undergoes sexual
  reassignment surgery in order to marry a soldier
  and flee to America. The surgery gets botched and
  the soldier ends up leaving her in Kansas. She
  forms a band and tells her story in coffee shops
  and diners.
• John Cameron Mitchell (Hedwig) performed songs
  from the film on various talk shows. On
  Letterman, he was told not to tear off his wig
  during his performance. He tore it off after the
  song finished, but they edited it out. He
  believes they wanted the audience to think he was
  a woman (not a man in drag)

his name in May 2010 Appeared on Dancing with the
Stars in 2011, faced a lot of criticism Keith
Ablow, of FOX News, called for a boycott of
Dancing with the Stars and asked parents to not
allow their children to watch the show. He said
that watching the show could make a child become
transgender.
