• Must have strong clarity and ethos

Symbol

• something used for or regarded as representing
  something else a material object representing
  something, often something immaterial emblem,
  token, or sign (dictionary.com)
• Images that represent concepts
• Symbols are more abstract
• Symbols suggest rather than represent
