Consulting
  • Consulting is the act of giving ideas to find
    solutions to specific issues/concerns
  • A consultant is an expert who is called on for
    professional or technical advice or opinions
  • They are relied on to understand the problem and
    present solutions

Mentoring
  • A mentor is an experienced and trusted guide and
    advisor
  • The mentor is the teacher that shares their
    experiences either formally or informally
  • The focus is on the mentee, their career and
    support of their individual growth and maturity.

Coaching
  • Coaching is the practice of supporting an
    individual
  • through the process of achieving a specific
  • professional result. It is predominantly
    facilitating in
  • style that is to say that the coach mainly asks
  • questions and challenges the coachee
  • The focus is on increasing student achievement
    through implementation of effective practices by
    the teacher
  • Coaching combines the complex skills of creating
    partnerships, establishing trusting relationships
    and facilitating instructional growth

State Network 2-year Coaching Initiative
  1. Each network member will commit to choosing a
    coaching partner and completing 2 coaching cycles
    by the spring network meeting
  2. Network member coaches will have resources to
    guide them through initiating and sustaining the
    coaching process with their partner

  1. Each network member will have a Mentor Coach
    assigned to support them throughout the year
  2. Coaching teams (network member and their coaching
    partner) will both attend a one-day spring
    training at the time of the Spring Network
    Meeting
