   liner Lusitania in 18 m., killing 1200,
   including 128 Americans.

• Germany claimed that because Lusitania "carried
  contraband of war, Germany had a right to
  destroy her regardless of any passengers aboard.

• A dive team in July 2008 discovered 15,000 rounds
  of rifle ammunition transported on the Lusitania
  in boxes in the bow section of the ship. In
  December 2008, a dive team estimated a further
  four million rounds of ammunition were on the
  ship at the time of its sinking.
